Tips to Getting to the Digg Homepage

June 25th, 2007 by Justice McCay

Digg

Getting an article from your site onto the Digg homepage is a difficult task, especially now that thousands of other webmasters are constantly competing against you to get there.

Digg can get you massive floods of traffic, such as 10,000 unique visitors within one hour, to your site. If your site is IT, computer, technology, or Internet-related, this traffic can be a goldmine if it converts well.

“Interesting and cool = front page
Lame and boring = wont make front page”

“I don’t think there’s much point in trying to promote anything on Digg that doesn’t appeal to the tech crowd. Most of the stuff on the homepage is IT related, or funny. So the most obvious tip is, keep it on-topic.”

Getting on the Digg homepage is a difficult and tedious task. Your article needs to be interesting, original, and something that hooks the reader immediately. Upon submitting your article to get Dugg, really think: “Would I digg up this article?”.
